Pont du Carousel is the famous bridge in Paris that leads you from the Left Bank to the Louvre.  Couples write their names on locks and attach them to the fence, then toss the key into the Seine as a sign of their love, where there are thousands of locks attached to the fence. Beautiful ♥

Loving this book

Yesterday, I went to my local library, and this is one of the books I checked out.  I haven't been able to put it down, and it's sure making me dream of Paris all the more.  I also checked out a few French cuisine inspired cookbooks, so I'm looking forward to the smells in my kitchen.  Stay tuned, I won't be as ambitious with my first attempts as Julia was... (brains in red wine - which she says was terrible).  I'll try something a little more child friendly, as most of my eating companions are under the age of eight.  I saw the movie inspired by Julia Child's life about a year ago.  I think I'm going to check it out again... but first I'm going to savor this book.  :-)  Have a fabulous week.

Wouldn't it be fun to hop on a plane and spend the night

in Paris... at Christmas time?

We could walk the streets with a pastry and cafe au late...

pretending we live there!

Look at amazing light displays...

Take pictures and people watch...

Do a little holiday shopping...

Visit fabulous landmarks...

Watch the streets clear as dawn approaches...

Welcome the new day...

And then hop a plane back home!

Wouldn't it be fun!

Notre Dame - honoring heroic women

My last trip to Paris, I visited the Notre Dame.  While I was there, I took time to think about the centuries of prayers and worship that had gone up from this place.   I love the stained glass windows, paintings, visual stories, well all of it really. There's so much to take in. This last trip, my favorite discovery was the sculpture of Joan of Arc.  I realized, her reputation was restored in this very place.  Amazing.

I wonder what discoveries await us this trip.

I can see the Eiffel Tower!
